Job Description Audit Manager (Job ID 0001)

Job Description

Plan and coordinate financial statement audit engagements for clients in various industries, including subsidiaries of Japanese publicly traded companies; develop audit strategies, risk assessments, and timelines; and ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) professional standards. Perform internal control testing and substantive audit procedures to evaluate the accuracy and completeness of financial statements. Review accounting transactions for compliance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (U.S. GAAP); evaluate reconciliation adjustments between Japanese Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (J-GAAP) and U.S. GAAP for subsidiaries of Japanese parent companies. Evaluate subsidiary-level internal controls in connection with obligations under Japan’s Financial Instruments and Exchange Act (J-SOX). Communicate with client management to discuss audit findings, internal control recommendations, and financial reporting matters. Supervise audit team members, review work papers for accuracy and compliance, and provide technical guidance. Prepare and review audit reports, financial statements, and management letters, and ensure timely delivery of audit deliverables. Multiple positions available.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Employment Experience: 24 months in job offered or closely related including accountant and auditor.
  • License: Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required.
  • Special Skills: Proficiency in performing audits of subsidiaries of Japanese publicly traded companies in accordance with Japan’s Financial Instruments and Exchange Act (J-SOX) and Japanese Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (J-GAAP) required.
  • Travel: Domestic travel to client sites across multiple states for on-site audit fieldwork. During busy season (January–May), travel occurs approximately once per month; during non-busy season (June to December), approximately once every two months. Trips typically range from one day to several days.

Work Schedule

Full-time, 40 hours per week

Rate of Pay

$100,00-$120,000 per year
